What’s included & pricing details

Your tour includes the yacht, Captain and First Mate. Food and drinks are extra. Shared tour ticket prices are per person. Private charter prices cover your whole group. Both-yacht prices include 10% off the second yacht.

Applicable taxes and the 6% online booking fee are extra. Food and paid drinks are subject to an 18% gratuity, calculated before tax. Booking is subject to availability.

Menu & ordering details

When to order: Food and decorations must be ordered at least 48 hours before departure. Prosecco can be pre-ordered on the day of your tour. Other drinks are purchased onboard.

Deposits & payment: All food orders require a 50% deposit. Decorations also require a 50% deposit. Follow your confirmation for the remaining balance and payment details.

Taxes & gratuity: Food and paid drinks are subject to applicable taxes and 18% gratuity. Decorations are $99 plus tax, with no gratuity.

Decorations: Available on private fireworks charters only, not shared-ticket tours. Includes supplies, setup and removal; actual arrangements may vary.

Where do we board?

Who needs to check in?

Every adult must complete digital check-in before arriving and have government-issued photo ID ready. Find the link in your confirmation email; we’ll also text it to the organizer on tour morning. Organizers should share it with every adult.

When do we leave and return?

We head out just before sunset. Check the booking calendar for your selected night’s departure time and tour length; both are included in your confirmation email.

Will our group be on the same yacht?

Both yachts sail on every fireworks night, with up to 12 guests aboard each. Book your group’s tickets together. If making separate bookings, contact us so we can coordinate yacht assignments.

A private charter reserves one yacht for 1–12 guests or both for 13–24. Children count toward capacity. During the evening, we anchor and tie the yachts alongside each other; your private yacht remains reserved for your group.

Can we add food, drinks or decorations?

Order catered food at least 48 hours ahead; all food orders require a 50% deposit. Drinks are available onboard. Decorations are available for private charters only.

What if there’s bad weather?

Light rain does not automatically cancel a tour. Your Captain assesses conditions at the marina and along the route. If we cancel your tour, you can choose a refund or future-tour credit.

Changes and cancellations follow your booking terms. Your booking stays unchanged until we confirm your request.

Trip Protection costs 10% plus tax and includes one fee-free date/time change and cancellation coverage for qualifying emergencies. Add it when booking or within 24 hours.

Which tour suits us?

Private: a yacht exclusively for your group. Public: a shared 1-hour cruise. Fireworks: individual tickets or a private charter. Corporate: a 2- or 3-hour private yacht experience for teams and clients, with specified quantities of catered food and drinks included.

Up to 12 guests on one yacht or 24 across both. Toddlers, children and all other guests count toward capacity.

What is included?

Every yacht has a Captain and First Mate to host your cruise. Private and corporate charters reserve the yacht for your group; public tours and individual fireworks tickets offer shared seating.

Food, drinks, decorations, taxes and booking fee are extra. Corporate packages include specified quantities of catered food and drinks; additional portions and drinks are available at extra cost.

How do I book?

Book at ottawayacht.ca, through the booking link on our Instagram, or by calling or emailing us. Public-tour tickets are also available through ticket resellers.

Online bookings require a 50% deposit. Follow the payment instructions in your confirmation.

Changes & weather

Is there a change fee?

At least 48 hours before departure: no date or time change fee. Less than 48 hours before departure: 20% of the original rental or ticket price, with a minimum of $25 per booking, plus taxes. Active Trip Protection includes one fee-free date or time change.

What if I cancel my booking?

Direct bookings cancelled at least 48 hours before departure qualify for a refund, subject to our cancellation policy and its exclusions. Less than 48 hours before departure, no tour refund applies unless active Trip Protection covers your circumstances. For tickets purchased through a reseller, contact the reseller.

How do I add protection?

Request it when booking or within 24 hours of booking, before the circumstance prompting a claim occurs. The cost is 10% of the rental or ticket price, plus taxes. Coverage activates when we confirm payment. The protection fee and its taxes are non-refundable. Reseller tickets are excluded.

What if there’s bad weather?

Weather shifts by the hour; we monitor the marina and route. Light rain alone won’t stop a safe tour. We won’t depart in lightning, thunder or unsafe winds.

If a storm may pass, we may delay departure while you wait at Le Pirate Rest-O-Bord’s covered terrace. If we cancel, you can choose a refund or credit; rescheduling follows your booking terms.

Can we bring our own?

No. Outside food, cake, drinks, bottled water and decorations are not permitted onboard. Order food, cake and decorations through us; drinks are available onboard.

How do we order food?

Add food and cake while booking, or use the order form afterward, including for bookings made through a reseller. Place orders at least 48 hours before departure.

Food is served once underway. Settle food and drink charges at tour’s end by Square or cash, individually or as one group. An automatic 18% gratuity applies to food.

Are drinks sold onboard?

Yes. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are sold à la carte. Settle onboard food and drink charges at tour’s end by Square or cash, individually or as one group. Corporate packages include specified drink quantities.

An automatic 18% gratuity applies to paid drinks.

Getting aboard

Where do we board?

Pirate Marina, 1067 Jacques-Cartier Street, Gatineau. Wait on the sidewalk at the entrance; the crew will escort you. Do not enter the docks alone.

Free public parking is about 100 metres away at 1089 Jacques-Cartier Street.

When should we arrive?

Arrive 15 minutes early. Allow extra travel time on fireworks nights.

Who needs to check in?

Every adult must complete their own digital check-in before arriving at the marina, using government-issued photo ID. Include children under 18 in an adult’s check-in, up to four per adult.

Tour organizers must send the check-in link to every adult. Guests without completed check-in cannot board.

The crew will check the passenger manifest on the sidewalk before escorting guests onto the docks to board.

What if we are late?

Public tours leave at 6 PM sharp. Fireworks tours leave at 8 PM sharp. Private and corporate charters can depart later but still end at their scheduled time.

Can we add extra time?

For private and corporate charters, extra time costs $99 plus taxes per 15 minutes, subject to availability and agreement.

What if we do not attend?

No-shows receive no tour refund or credit.

On the yacht

Are lifejackets provided?

Yes—one for every guest. Toddlers and small children must wear them throughout the tour. Adults generally do not need to wear one, but must follow the Captain’s instructions.

Is there a washroom?

Yes, on each yacht. Cabin access is for washroom use only, one person at a time.

Please use the restaurant washrooms before boarding when possible; onboard holding-tank capacity is limited.

Is boarding accessible?

The docks and yachts are not fully wheelchair-accessible. Contact us before booking to discuss your needs.

Can we bring an animal?

Pets are not permitted. Contact us before booking to discuss boarding with a service animal.

What footwear is allowed?

Remove shoes and socks after boarding unless the crew instructs otherwise. Soft-soled, non-marking boat shoes are permitted. Heels and marking soles are not permitted.

What safety rules apply?

Listen to the safety briefing and follow the Captain’s and crew’s instructions. Wait for crew assistance when boarding and disembarking.

What conduct is expected?

Respect the crew and other guests, and follow the Captain’s instructions. We have zero tolerance for unsafe, abusive or disruptive behaviour, or excessive intoxication. This may result in removal at the nearest marina or the cruise ending early, without refund. In either case, police will be called to meet the yacht.

What about shared cruises?

Keep voices at a considerate volume. No speakerphone calls or personal music played aloud.

What etiquette applies during fireworks?

Keep your camera light and flash off when taking photos or recording videos. Keep conversation to a minimum so everyone can enjoy the show.

How do we protect the yacht and river?

Apply sunscreen before boarding, not onboard. No confetti, glitter or party poppers. Never throw anything overboard; hand rubbish to the crew.

In the washroom, turn off the tap after use. Put toilet paper used after urinating in the bin, and follow the crew’s washroom instructions.

Is smoking or vaping allowed?

No smoking, vaping or recreational drug use is permitted onboard or on the docks.

Corporate tours

What does a package cover?

A 2- or 3-hour private charter with a Captain and First Mate on each yacht, plus catered food and drinks.

Your package includes one food portion per guest and one alcoholic drink per guest per hour: two drinks on a 2-hour tour or three on a 3-hour tour. Soda and water are included throughout.

Groups of 1–12 use one yacht; groups of 13–24 use both. Food and drink quantities follow your actual guest count, with no minimum guest charge. Alcohol service remains subject to the limits described below.

Can we customize food?

Choose charcuterie, sandwiches or a mix from the portions included in your package. Add extra portions as needed, cake by the slice or as a whole cake serving eight, and Prosecco.

Can I get a quote?

Tell us about your event, group size and preferred date. We’ll reply with a tailored quote. A quote is not a confirmed booking.

How do I confirm it?

Choose your guest count in the corporate panel, then select See dates & book to choose your date and complete your booking.

How do I pay?

A 50% deposit is required for the tour and food and drinks. Pay by card when booking online, call us to book and pay by card, or ask us to enter the booking and send a confirmation email with a payment link for your deposit.

The balance is due before your tour.

Who pays for extra drinks?

Charge extra onboard drinks to the organizer or let guests pay individually. Tell the crew your preference; you can change it during the tour.

Are prepaid drinks limited?

Including package drinks, the estimator caps prepaid alcoholic drinks at two per actual guest per hour. Choose your drinks onboard. Soda and water are included throughout the tour.

What fees apply?

An 18% gratuity applies to food and paid drinks. Taxes are additional. The 6% booking fee is calculated before taxes and gratuity.

Fine print

The change fee is per booking changed and is calculated on the original yacht rental or ticket price before taxes, plus applicable taxes. Corporate packages use the rental portion only. Food, drinks, decorations, gratuities, booking fee and Trip Protection are excluded.

Any increase in the new tour price and unrecoverable food or decoration costs remain payable. We confirm the cost before processing your change.

Rescheduling does not restore refund eligibility lost under the original departure date. Contact-detail corrections and adding extras have no change fee; ordering deadlines apply. Reducing guests or duration follows the cancellation terms and applicable minimum charges.

For cancellation, qualifying reasons are unexpected illness, injury or a serious family emergency preventing attendance. Reasonable supporting documentation may be required.

Changes of mind and weather preferences are not covered for cancellation. No-shows are excluded. Protection is unavailable for reseller tickets. The protection fee and its taxes are never refunded, including if we cancel.

If we change or cancel your tour

Changes we initiate have no change fee. If we cancel, choose a refund or future-tour credit.

Fine print

Refunds include rental or tickets, booking fee, prepaid drinks, recoverable food costs, all decorations, gratuities and applicable taxes. We absorb unrecoverable decoration costs.

Unrecoverable food costs and their taxes remain payable; food gratuity is refunded. Trip Protection and its taxes remain non-refundable.

Only costs we cannot recover remain payable.

Fine print

There is no double charge for items we can reuse. For food already prepared, call Le Pirate Rest-O-Bord at 819-243-5200 to arrange takeout or a table. Decorations have no gratuity.

We decide whether conditions are safe to operate. If we operate and you choose not to attend, the guest cancellation terms apply. No-shows receive no refund or credit.

Fine print

Private yacht rentals, food and decoration orders require a 50% deposit. Follow your booking confirmation for balance due dates and payment instructions. Ticket and corporate-package payments follow the instructions in your confirmation.

We assess safety at the marina and along the route. Rain, clouds, cooler temperatures or forecasts alone do not mean cancellation. Follow the arrival and late-arrival rules in your confirmation email.
